SQUIGGLE was engaged to align our Deloitte Consulting leadership team around our business strategy and how, at a personal level, we will live our strategy every day in how we engage with our people. It has been a phenomenal success. What struck me was the practicality of the process (a handbook and daily to-do list) that became the foundation for the implementation of our plans. Coming up with the strategies and plans are easy, implementation is difficult but unless you live it, it is sure to fail. The “live” part is what SQUIGGLE does best! |

Partnering with SQUIGGLE has brought a fresh, creative approach to Cell C's employee engagement and strategy alignment initiatives. The process and tools recommended by SQUIGGLE, enabled us to incorporate our company’s unique character, and assisted us in simplifying our strategy. This is key to helping employees to understand it and change behavior accordingly.
The process is designed to facilitate employee engagement with the strategy, and in turn promoting an emotional connection. This emotional connection is achieved by ensuring a leadership driven process, thus instilling ownership and accountability of the process in all areas of the business and making it a way of life. The tools are well designed and are easy to use for the busy executive. The entire process creates room to build and improve on leadership communication capability, with an approach to incorporate individual style rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Utilising this process will ensure that each person in the business knows how their role fits into the big picture, and keeps the company strategy top of mind. In that way, we will be positioned to achieve better results for the company because of an engaged workforce.

Following the merger of SMT Mining and Shanyela Timbers, two competitor companies involved in the supply of underground mine support products, we engaged with SQUIGGLE to assist us in the difficult task of creating a unique brand for the merged entity.
The process involved, amongst other, structured interviews with key personnel on fundamental values and expectations encapsulating the essence of the two companies into the new brand.
The end result is a living brand with a comprehensive set of tools including a corporate image, a brand print and brand alignment plans.
We believe that developing a new brand goes far beyond the design of a logo and that the fundamental and strategic thinking involved and embedded in this brand development process, clearly distinguishes SQUIGGLE from similar offerings available. |

Tracey Swanepoel of SQUIGGLE played an
invaluable role in assisting Harmony to
create a single, strong unifying identity for a
company that grew through aggressive
acquisition. This was initially done through
improving our communication channels but also
through aligning all internal and external
channels and messages. Even then it was clear
that the real potential lay in aligning all 55
000 employees in different countries and on
different continents, to one consistent and
clearly understood strategy. At no stage did
Squiggle try to own the process or any of the
innovative tools or channels that were
developed. This enabled the company (through
line management) to take not only ownership but
also accountability for aligning our employees.
It also ensured simplicity appropriate to the
levels of the organisation. Although it was hard
work to learn to listen to employees, the
SQUIGGLE process delivered huge value to the
business and was also great fun! |
